PRL Test Fixtures: Examples from Customer Projects
The compact PRL test fixture
A typical PRL test fixture. As usual, locating pins position the PCB. Since the board under test is not rectangular, the right-hand side of the housing is shaped to match its outline. This test fixture is made entirely from ESD-compatible plastic rather than simply having an ESD coating. For this reason, we have omitted our characteristic yellow handle in this example.
Contacting fine-pitch connectors
In this example, the test fixture needed to contact a very fine-pitch connector on the board under test. Test probes could not be used, so a PCB with the matching mating connector was designed instead. In cases like this, we pay particular attention to making wear parts easy to replace.
Custom interfaces
This test fixture provides protection against accidental contact and includes an industrial connector rated for mains voltage.
Test point labelling
A typical PRL test fixture with individual test point labels, available on request. The labels are laser-engraved into the probe plate after manufacture.
High mechanical advantage
Like our other designs, the PRL mechanism provides excellent mechanical advantage. Hundreds of test probes can be engaged with a single hand movement and minimal effort.
Displays and controls
These are simple PRL test fixtures with added controls and switches. The same applies to all our test fixtures: whatever you would like to integrate, we will find a solution.
